The seven were ruled by the sons of Priyavrata (son of Svvyambuva Manu), according to the Varaha Purana (chapter 74).
The names of the seven dweepas and their respective rulers are:
Jambu ruled over by Agnidhara
Saka ruled over by Medha thithi
Krauncha ruled over by Jyotiṣhman
Salmala ruled over by Dyuthimaan
Gomeda ruled over by Havya,
Plakaṣa ruled over by Vapuṣhman
Pushkara ruled over by Savana.
Each continent containef more sub-continents within them, are round in shape, and are encircled within seven concentric oceans.
